Day 27: Kastamonu

Amasra to Kastamonu

After Amasra we were going to Amasya “Tombs of the Kings of Pontus”. But the drive to Amasya was 6 hours which was too long and tiring to bear. We rather stopped for a night somewhere, had a nice dinner, relax and sleep before proceeding to Amasya the next day.

We selected the town of Kastamonu as our “night stop”. It was a 3 hours drive from Amasra. The route led us back to Safranbolu (Karabuk) so we drove through the scenic landscapes that we past two days ago on the way to Amasra.

Turkiye landscapes were so must lovelier than our expectations. Our past understanding of Turkiye was a dusty and dry country. But this road trip shown us that Turkiye was so much more.

Kastamonu

We did not do much in the town of Kastamonu.  After checking into our hotel we just strolled to the town center in search of food. It was a quiet and clean town. There were probably local famous mosques and museums etc but we just wanted a quiet day to rest and relax.

There was a little river, “Karacomak” flowing through the town. On both sides of the town were shops, cafes and shops. We stopped at Etli Restaurant to have a nice meal for only 310tlr.
