Plan for the day
On this day we would returned to Tasch from Zermatt after our 5-Seenweg walked. From Tasch we would drive to Villeneuve a town by lake Geneva where we had booked a room for the night. The rest for the evening would basically be rest, relax and preparing for our trip home the next day.
Villeneue
Villeneue was just a convenient stop between Zermatt and Geneva International airport. We selected Villenue as it was an hour from Zermatt/Tasch this allowed us to stay as late as we needed in Zermatt to finish our exploration. We were done by 5 pm and left Zermatt for Tasch and reached Villeneuve at about 7.20 pm.
Our stay at Villeneuve was near Geneva Lake and there was plentiful of restaurants just a street away. We ate at one of the restaurants, our dinner included a pizza, a steak and two cups of cupaccino and the bill came up to CHF43.
After dinner we took a stroll by the lake and viewed the sunset over Geneva Lake.
Getting to Geneva International Airport
From Villeneuve was an hour drive to Geneva International Airport. We were driving to Citroen Outlet on the French side which was just 6.5 km from the airport. We had plentiful of time so it was a leisure drive. On the way near the airport we saw a couple of Sunflower farms and they were huge, bright and gorgeous.
At Citroen Outlet, we were very surprise when the lady staff told us that we had not made an appointment to return the car, she seemed not too happy and did not want to process the car return. Luckily we had evidence (whatapps messages) of our communication with another staff to proof that we had made an appointment. Wow! If we had not insisted on a message confirmation three days ago after we called and talked to a male staff to book the return appointment we would be in trouble!!!
The car return-process was done easily with no issue. A van then came to pick us up and transfer us to Geneva International Airport. At the airport, we looked out for the signs that pointed us to the Swiss Side to pick up our boarding passes and soon we were on our way back HOME!
Accomodation for the night
For our last night in Switzerland, we booked our stay which was just a private double room at Sophie’s House “Chambre dans un environnement calme” from Airbnb (click “Gift Voucher” to received a cash voucher for new Airbnb signup) . It costed CHF79 for a night. The listing in Airbnb stated a private bathroom and free parking. We arrived at the apartment block and parked our car at a lot assigned to the Sophie’s apartment. Sophie was not in so we picked up the keys at our agreed location.
Our room had a double bed and on the table was a kettle and some tea bags. The private toilet was not in the room but outside. The room had a big window unfortunately there was no netting on the window. We had to keep the window shuttetd because there were flying insects and they bit. Unfortunately when the window was closed the room felt stuffy. There was no air-conditioner installed in the room so we approached our host for a fan. Surprising Sophie told us there was none in her house! We did not had a good sleep for the night! This room was probably fine for colder days but certainly not good for summer.
